Spice Girls - Ne-yo Turned Down Spice Girls For Rihanna

Singer/songwriter NE-YO was approached by the SPICE GIRLS to write tracks for their recent Greatest Hits album - but he turned them down in favour of working with RIHANNA.

The So Sick hitmaker was busy working with the Umbrella songstress when he received the call from the newly reformed girl band.

And the R+B star was forced to say no as he couldn't fit them into his hectic schedule.

He says, "The Spice Girls asked me to write some songs but I couldn't find the time.

"They wanted something for their comeback album but I never got round to getting it done. I was recording songs for Rihanna at the time."

Doctor Who - 21 Million Iplayer Requests In April Bbc Reveals

The BBC's iPlayer service was inundated by some 21 million requests for downloads and streams of the broadcaster's shows in April, it has been revealed.

The statistics, announced by the BBC's director of future media and technology Ashley Highfield at Google's Zeitgeist 2008 forum, indicate the startling growth experienced by the on-demand service.

The number of monthly requests made through the iPlayer in April increased by 20 per cent from the previous month while the number of weekly users increased by 300,000 people, up to 1.4 million.

And after April's figures were confirmed, Highfield revealed that the iPlayer has now processed an amazing 75 million requests since its introduction in December 2007.

The most popular shows among iPlayer users in April were, unsurprisingly, the BBC's highest-rating programmes, with Doctor Who and The Apprentice both featuring in the top 20 most-requested programmes for downloading or streaming.

BBC3 shows also proved popular, with Page Three Teens the one entry in the top ten while the award wins of much-loved sitcom Gavin and Stacey saw its televised viewing figures boosted by almost a quarter of a million people in one week alone.

The top 20 most-requested programmes to download or stream on BBC iPlayer in April were:

1 Doctor Who - episode 1: BBC1
2 Penguins April Fool: BBC1
3 Doctor Who - episode 2: BBC1
4 Doctor Who - episode 3: BBC1

Uma Thurman stalker suspect says trial humiliating

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The man accused of stalking actress Uma Thurman called his actions "misguided" on Friday and said he felt humiliated by the attention he has received.

Jack Jordan, 37, is accused of sending harassing e-mails to Thurman's father and brother, loitering for hours on the steps of Thurman's Manhattan apartment and visiting her trailer on a movie set.

He is charged with misdemeanor counts of stalking and harassment of the "Kill Bill" and "Pulp Fiction" actress and faces up to one year in prison if convicted.

"This was uncharacteristic of me," Jordan told a Manhattan jury on the fourth day of the trial. "Frankly, I feel humiliated by this process right now. What I thought had been private had been made public."

The 38-year-old actress testified on Thursday that Jordan's actions had caused her to fear for her life and the safety of her two children.

"I was completely freaked out. It was like a nightmare," Thurman said.

The actress's mother, Nena Thurman, said Jordan called her home in Woodstock, New York, and sent about 20 e-mails from 2005 to 2007 to her husband, Robert Thurman, a professor of Indo-Tibetan Studies at Columbia University.

"I was very respectfully trying to make my existence known to her," Jordan testified. But he said he felt Thurman's assistants and security guards made courting her impossible.
